Houdini is working to find a solution to this problem with their Power Air Hoodie. Developed with Polartec, this lightweight fleece delivers comfortable warmth that layers well in the winter, stands alone in the fall and spring, and stretches comfortably whenever you wear it. But more importantly, it sheds up to five times fewer microfibers than standard fleeces when washed. The Power Air accomplishes this task by substituting a traditional exposed fleece construction for one in which the insulating fleece fibers are trapped inside small pockets. This not only creates heat-trapping pockets that insulate you well without adding weight, but also cuts back dramatically on the amount of fibers that can enter our rivers and oceans, letting you feel good in more ways than one.
